What is your job title, and what does that position entail?
I am a client account representative working out of our Northwest office in Oregon. My territory includes Eastern Washington, Eastern Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Utah, and Wyoming. I also process orders for any out of territory clients! The position entails order processing, purchasing products from suppliers, invoicing, and assisting with anything else our clients may need.
How long have you worked at Olympus, where did you come from? A little history of how you got involved with Olympus?
I was looking for a new, fresh opportunity that would give me room to grow my knowledge and skills and came across an ad Olympus posted for hire and here I am! I’ve been at Olympus since March 2018 and I am loving every minute of it! Before finding Olympus, I was a customer service rep for a small metalizing company in Tigard and I did some of their shipping & receiving as well.
What do you like best about working at Olympus?
My favorite thing about working at Olympus is the culture. Management has done an outstanding job creating a company that is a community of kind, brilliant, innovative, fun, and goal driven people. Oh & did I mention we’re really dog friendly around here? What’s not to love about coming to work with a team of people that you can call your friends, and cute doggos?
Describe a little of your past history.
I’ve worked in customer service positions for as long as I can remember!
Describe some of your hobbies – what do you like to do outside of work?
I like scoping out local plant/flower shops and admiring all their plant cuties! I enjoy a good book so you can find me in a library often or a cozy book shop. I also appreciate a good movie or show, so I am always asking for good recommendations and don’t mind being glued to my couch every once in awhile! Furthermore, I make time to explore downtown Portland for fun places to grab food/drinks, so I have somewhere new to revel in with friends and family.
What are some key lessons you have taken from your career thus far?
A few lessons I’ve learned from my career thus far is to never fear asking questions (there is always so much to learn!) and responsibility. You and only you are responsible for your actions and following through on work assignments. If all is well, that’s great! If at times you feel overwhelmed with disappointment or fury, that’s a good indication that it may be time to re-evaluate your process and re-direct yourself towards a path of further success.
What is one thing you customers might find surprising about you?
I can walk on my hands!
