Buyer. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Product procurement. Price comparison/negotiations across all lines. Lead time evaluations. Expediting. Customer service (internal). Special projects.
How long have you worked at Olympus, where did you come from? A little history of how you got involved with Olympus
I have been with Olympus Controls since November 2019.
What do you like best about working at Olympus?
The people are great to work with. Friendly/Family since day one!
Describe a little of your past history.
I have been in purchasing since 2001. My previous position was with Plexus Corp (formerly Cascade Controls NW) as a Buyer II since 2006. Prior to that I was an expeditor/buyer with Synetics.
Describe some of your hobbies – what do you like to do outside of work?
I enjoy fishing. I also enjoy travelling (road trips) with my wife and kids.
What are some key lessons you have taken from your career thus far?
Relationships are key! If I have a good working relationship with a vendor (person), I will be more apt to spend the money with them then I would a webpage if the price is equal.
What is one thing your customers might find surprising about you?
I was a Reserve Police Officer for 9 years.
