What is your job title, and what does that position entail?
My job title is HR Admin. This position really encompasses a lot of different task. Some of the tasks include new employee on-boarding, running reports and general assistance to our HR Manager.
How long have you worked at Olympus, where did you come from?
I have been at Olympus since October 2014. Prior to working here, I was a server at an independent retirement home, which requires a lot of patience. It was very rewarding to be a part of so many people’s lives and their family’s lives too.
Can you tell us a little about your background and how it helps you in this position?
When I first started at Olympus Controls I was the receptionist and after about a year and half I was transferred to the Client Account Rep. department. The responsibilities I had in both roles really prepared me for the HR Admin. position. I really enjoy helping everyone in the company.
What are some key lessons you have taken from your career thus far?
No one is perfect, it is okay to seek advice and help from your peers. Be open to ideas and listen to each other.
What do you like best about working at Olympus?
I feel like everyone says this, but the people! My coworkers are my friends. We enjoy doing activities outside work and everyone gets along which I feel is not always normal in most work places.
What was your first job ever?
My first job ever was at Little Caesars. I was only there for a short amount of time but it was fun working with high school buddies.
Describe some of your hobbies – what do you like to do outside of work?
I enjoy baking, hiking, working in my garden, relaxing at the coast, hanging out with my family and just unwinding.
What is one thing your customers might find surprising about you?
I still get my DVD’s mailed to my house from Netflix… yep, it’s still a thing!
