How long have you worked at Olympus, where did you come from? A little history of how you got involved with Olympus?
I have been with Olympus Controls since August 2019; I came from Viking Cold Solutions, an energy efficiency startup. I have always been interested in hi-tech and robotics and found out about the opening in the Gulf via networking.
What do you like best about working at Olympus?
It is challenging and rewarding, the work culture is great.
Describe a little of your past history.
From Austin, TX originally, received BS Mechanical Engineering from US Naval Academy. Was Surface Warfare Officer and Engineering Division Officer on Destroyer, then went into Offshore Drilling engineering management training program, worked as an expat in South Korea for drill-ship construction, then was Sales Engineer for energy efficiency start-up.
Describe some of your hobbies – what do you like to do outside of work?
Play adult co-ed kickball and sand volleyball, master SCUBA diver, and walking my Shiba Inu dog named Brodie
What are some key lessons you have taken from your career thus far?
Never assume anything.
What is one thing you customers might find surprising about you?
That I backpacked the world for 9 months straight.
